William “Bill” T. Knott, Jr., age 68, of Port Deposit, MD passed away on October 4, 2012.
Bill was born on December 28, 1943 in Lancaster, PA to William T. & Mary Knott. He was a Veteran of the U S Navy having served in the Pacific. He was a devoted family man. He enjoyed camping, gambling, cooking, boating and he was very active in the Boy Scouts of America having served as a troop leader to Troop # 217 Parkesburg, PA.
He is survived by wife, Lorraine Knott of Port Deposit, MD; sons, William T. Knott III of Finksburg, MD and Brian Knott and his wife Patricia of Honeybrook, PA; sister, Nancy Diem and her husband Vernon of Shippensburg, PA; step-daughters, Kathy Rando and her husband Bobby of Rising Sun, MD., Donna DiNicola and her husband Bill of Hockessin, DE and Darnelle Simmons and her husband Jason of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Zachary & Alex Knott, John, Cory & Cody Laird, Vincent & Marcus Rando, Olivia & Adelina DiNicola.
A Visitation will be held 6-8pm on Monday, October 8, 2012 at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Service will be held 11am on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 150 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Burial to follow at Rosebank Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association c/o R.T. Foard Funeral Home.

Dear Lorraine and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing and also sorry I just found out today. I will never forget all the wonderful times we shared! Bill was a one in a million man with a sense of humor never to be forgotten! Remember when we all went white water rafting and Bill found a place where I could have a bathroom and shower close by since I was camping for the first time? Remember how many times I fell down that muddy hill? Remember how all of us made stew and Kevin said he put rabbit in his and I was so mad? Bill laughed and laughed and teased. Although our friendship was not close in the past years, you both always meant a lot to me. Lorraine, my deepest sympathies are with you.

I'm so sorry to hear that Bill has passed on. My heart goes out to his wife and family. Although I only knew Bill for a short while, I could tell right from the start he was a sincere and honorable man. I purchased some coins from him on eBay and learned that we had been frequenting the same auctions for quite some time without officially meeting each other until then. I could tell he was trying to make the best of his golden years and know that he will rest in peace. God Bless Bill, and all his friends and family!

Even though we had different views and he so enjoyed getting a rise out of me I always looked forward to seeing him because he never ever played the politically correct card and you always knew where he stood.
