William Stuart Durfey

William Stuart Durfey, age 91, of Rising Sun, MD passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born on November, 4, 1925 in Odessa, NY to the late Stuart Hamilton Durfey and Bessie Esther (Smith) Durfey.

William was a custodian with the Odessa, NY school system. He also worked as a farmer. William wrote poetry, enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool. He also enjoyed spending time at the Cecil County Senior Center, loved college sports, especially the Syracuse team.

William is survived by his two daughters: Julianna King and her husband, Lewis of Rising Sun, MD, and Linda Shaul and her husband, Irv of Odessa, NY. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his brother, Fred Durfey, two sisters: Charlotte Naylor and Mary Hewit, and his son William Durfey.

Services for William will be private at the family’s convenience.
