William D. Creeger, 90, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
Born September 6, 1924 in Tiffin, OH, William was the son of the late William H. and Clara E. Creeger. William enlisted in the United States Navy December 7, 1941 shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served much of his time in the South Pacific during World War II. He met his wife, Beatrice while stationed at Bainbridge and soon after purchased a farm in Rising Sun, MD and started the Creeger Family Farm in 1952. William and Beatrice owned and operated a greenhouse which they called ‘Hidden Valley’. William later managed the Creeger Home and Hardware Store for 12 years. Though William enjoyed farming and operating his small businesses, the thing that brought him the most joy and that he was most proud of was serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a loving father, a wonderful grandfather, and a great friend whose memory will be cherished. He will be missed dearly.
William is survived by his two sons, William S. Creeger and his wife, Wanda and Ronald D. Creeger and his wife, Sariella Cheryl; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Including his parents, William was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Beatrice Creeger; son, Norman Creeger; and grandson, Sonny Creeger.
