William Patrick Mortimer, Jr. of North East, MD, age 58, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019. He was born in Chester, PA on January 22, 1961 to William Patrick Mortimer, Sr. and Maryann C. (Reist) Mortimer.
Bill worked for WL Gore Associates for 35 years as Global Technical Leader. He was a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Super Bowl 52 Champion Eagles. Bill loved bowling, playing golf and especially volleyball. Bill coached his children’s softball and basketball teams and was also involved with the North East Little League in North East, MD. Bill enjoyed spending time in Cape May, NJ. He loved hosting his family and friends at his annual 4th of July party, barbequing and putting on his fireworks show.
Bill is survived by three children: Alyson Mortimer of New York, NY, Elizabeth Mortimer of North East, MD and Patrick Mortimer of North East, MD; parents, William and Maryann Mortimer of Aston, PA; two brothers: Michael (Erica) Mortimer of Yardley, PA and Daniel (Bridget) Mortimer of Woodstown, NJ; three sisters: Kathleen (Paul) Rick of Parkesburg, PA, MaryEllen (Mark) Scheidecker of Wilmington, DE and AnnMarie (Brad) Brittingham of Bethel, PA; one uncle, John Mortimer from West Chester PA, two aunts, Kathleen (Jack) Deemer of Wilmington Delaware and Georgianne Mortimer of Wilmington DE, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, one great-niece and one great-nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 1 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3255 Concord Rd., Aston, PA 19014, where family and friends may begin visiting at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
