William “Bill” Longacre Fell, age 86, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully on August 26, 2018. Born on June 21, 1932 in Calvert, MD, he was the son of the late Norman Job and Rosa (Longacre) Fell.

Bill graduated with honors from the University of Maryland in 1953 with a Bachelor’s Degree. He played varsity soccer and was also a member of the ROTC program, leading him to become a personnel officer for the US Air Force at McGuire Air Force Base during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to his family farm, established in 1888, to continue running all farm operations. Bill’s most cherished moments were spent with his family.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Freda Fell, of Rising Sun, MD; daughter Cynthia Henderson and her husband, Bill, of Rising Sun, MD; son David Fell of Wesminster, MD; and two grandsons: Jack and Tyler Henderson. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by four sisters: Betty Obenshain, Dotty Parsons, Rosemary Mitchell, and Rae Weller.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 11:30am on Monday, September 3, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00am.
