Wilbern M. Kirkpatrick (Mike) age 73, passed away on December 19, 2021, in Elkton, MD. Mike was born February 14, 1948 to Wilbern L. and Della Jayne Kirkpatrick of Niles Valley, PA. Upon completing high school, Mike served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mike lived in Wilmington, DE and North Richland Hills, TX where he was employed in the construction industry as a concrete finisher and worked as a foreman. After his retirement, Mike settled in Elkton, MD in February 2016.
Mike enjoyed spending time with his children and family, hunting, watching NASCAR, baseball and girls’ softball. Mike loved animals especially his cat “Lucky “and feeding the birds outside of his living room window.
Mike is survived by his son, Michael Z. Kirkpatrick (Jen) of Philadelphia, PA. Brothers John B. Kirkpatrick (Jeanie) of Davenport, FL, Timothy G. Kirkpatrick (Cindy) of York, PA and sister Wendy M. Sacchet (Pete) of New Castle, DE. Step daughters, Kerrica Scholl (Greg) and MarRae Sipple (Steve) of Celebration, FL.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kamela J. Kirkpatrick (James Smith) of Elkton, MD.
Mikes memorial service will be private. To honor Mike’s memory the family suggests making a donation to the American Cancer Society (www.Cancer.org) or the Humane Society (www.humanesociety.com).
