Wayne Clarence Goodman, age 91, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Born November 24, 1925 in Baldwin, NC, Wayne was the son of the late William Russell Goodman and Clemmie Louisa (Friesland) Goodman.

Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was stationed in central Europe. He walked Biggs Highway every day for more than twenty years with his beloved dog, Molly, waving to everyone who passed by. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and building birdhouses but what he cherished most was his time spent with his wonderful family.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Arlene Brammer Goodman of Rising Sun, MD; daughter, Sharon Barker and her husband, Harold of Port Deposit, MD; son, Russell W. Goodman and his wife, Susan of Bennington, VT; two granddaughters, Stephanie A. White and her husband, Timothy and Janelle M. Walden and her husband, Randy and grandson, Aubrey L. Goodman. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Fannie Haire, Ruth Haynes, Maude Grogan, and Dollie Grogan; and his brother, Walter Goodman.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at 3pm on Monday, April 10, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may visit beginning at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “American Alzheimer’s Association” and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
