Walter Lee Lowman, III, age 63, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. Born in Baltimore, MD on August 25, 1959, he was the son of the late Walter Lee Lowman, II and Anna Elizabeth (nee, Kelley) Lowman.
He was a proud member of the Steam Fitters Union, Local 486. Lee was an “Adrenaline Junkie.” He was a licensed pilot who had a love of fast cars, especially Corvettes. On one occasion he got to push the “peddle to the metal” on the “Monster Mile” at The Dover Motor Speedway. He also enjoyed exploring the “Wild West.” Arizona and Utah were among his favorite destinations. His daughter remembers him as a proud and authentic man. Lee lived his life to the fullest and didn’t waste time worrying about what other people thought about him. He was an avid Elvis fan and just like “The King” was also known for his unique sense of style. Lee could often be seen walking around town wearing his collection gold chains and Crocodile Cowboy Boots. Above all else in this world, he adored his daughter and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Lowman and her fiance, Timothy Holland, Jr.; three grandchildren: Hayden Holland, Timothy Holland, III, and Taylor Holland; brother, Richard Lowman and his wife, Barbara; and sister, Cathy (Styers) Maddox and her husband, Van Maddox; and numerous nieces.
A celebration of Lee’s life will be held at 3PM on April 15, 2023 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where family and friends may begin visiting at 1PM. Burial will be private.
