Walter H. Buzby, 77, of Elkton, MD passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his home.
Born July 22, 1937 in Woodbury, NJ, Walter was the son of the late Albert and Dorris (Hendrickson) Buzby, Sr. Walter graduated from Woodstown High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the United States Army. Following his enlistment, he attended Wilkes Barre College in Pennsylvania. He worked on the railroads and for transportations companies for a short while before he began his career with the duPont company working as both a purchasing agent and a fleet manager. He was a Master Mason with the Solomon Lodge number 36 in Newark, DE for over 40 years. Walter enjoyed working in his garden, traveling, and visiting his nephews in Salem County, NJ. He loved his two dogs, Bota and Casey and his Corvettes. Most of all, he enjoyed his time spent with his wonderful family and friends.
Walter is survived by his brothers, Wilbur H. Buzby and Albert F. Buzby, Jr.; sister, Barbara Buzby Nathan; and several nieces and nephews. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Wagner who passed away in 1991.
A service will be held in Walter’s honor at 2 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Gracelawn Memorial Park’s chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720, where family and friends may visit beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made payable to Singerly Fire Company and send in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921.
