Walter G. Peters, Age 98, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Country House in Wilmington, DE. Walt was born on June 7, 1918, in Wenonah, NJ, the son of the late Raymond I. Sr. and Alice (Watson) Peters.

After graduating from Bucknell and attending officer training at Harvard, he served in the South Pacific as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He spent his career in DuPont’s Photosystems & Electronic Products division in Rochester, NY.

For many years, Walt was an active member of Limestone Presbyterian Church, where he served as both a deacon and an elder. He enjoyed attending courses at the Academy of Lifelong Learning, and he loved to play golf.

Walt was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his nephew, Jeff Peters and his wife, Donna; his nephew, Raymond I. Peters III and his wife Sue, their sons Sam and Tom; and by his nephew, John Deck.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Deck and his brother Raymond I. Peters Jr.

Walt’s family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at the Country House for the loving care they provided.
