Walter Dale Ferguson, Sr. “Moose”, age 66 passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. He was born in Wilmington, DE on February 21, 1957, to the late Harold Edward Ferguson and Betty Lorraine (Wingard) Ferguson.
Walter is a member of New Hope Baptist in Elk Mills. He was President of HOC for many years and a member of DE Abate. Walter enjoyed truck pulling, going to the Cecil County Fair, and fishing. He liked to go to Ocean City to shore fish and went trout fishing in the Greenridge Mountains. Walter loved bonfires and would have a large annual bonfire. He enjoyed spending time working in his vegetable garden. Walter loved all his children and grandchildren.
Walter is survived by his wife, Eva A. Ferguson; daughters: Mandy Jones (Craig), and Ashley Wiley; sons: Walter Dale Ferguson, Jr. (Vanessa), and Dale Wiley (Cari); grandchildren: Audrey Ferguson, Violet Ferguson, Glenn Cochran, Gracelynn Cochran, Isabella Wiley, Jackson Wiley, and Cadence Wiley; sister, Sharon Dudkewitz, and good friend Shorty Billings.
In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Payton Jones and 4 baby Wiley’s.
A celebration of Walter’s life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11 am at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD where family and friends may begin visiting at 10 am. Please attend in your casual attire. Burial will follow at Head of Christiana Cemetery.
