Walter A. Broll, III, 59, of Elkton, MD, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 4, 2013.
Born in Baltimore, MD on November 13, 1953, Walter was the son of Walter A. Broll, Jr. and the late Dorothy Judith Lari Broll. He attended Glen Burnie High School, and was a master finishing carpenter, and a member of Carpenters Union 101. He attended Essex Community College and received an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design from Heartland Community College in Normal, IL. He was a train enthusiast, skilled on the computer, a talented mechanic and cook. He also enjoyed fishing and being on the Chesapeake Bay. He will be remembered as a talented craftsman who took pride in his work and as a loving and caring father, to his son, Walter Marshall Broll.
In addition to his son and father, Walter is survived by his mother, Loretta Broll of Baltimore, his wife of 21 years, Catherine Rankin and a friend who was like a brother to him, Richard Disney as well as numerous cousins, in laws and extended family.
A service honoring his life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 11 am. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation (UMBF) c/o the funeral home.
