Wanda Sue Stroup, 82, of Rural Retreat, VA, passed away peacefully Monday, January 6, 2014 at Union Hospital.
Born February 2, 1931 in Crockett, VA, Sue was the daughter of the late John Samuel and Leife Irene (Lanter) Bralley. Sue loved gardening; she was known for her green-thumb and could grow virtually anything. She was a very spiritual woman who enjoyed spending time reading God’s scriptures. She also enjoyed spending time in nature, watching all of God’s creatures. But what Sue cherished most, was her time spent with her wonderful family, whether it be reading the Bible, bird watching, or just relaxing in their company.
Sue is survived by her son, Richard Mark Stroup of Rural Retreat, VA; daughter, Barbara J. Keith of Newark, DE; two grandchildren, Charles Russell Keith, Jr. and Adam Wesley Keith, both of Newark, DE; three great grandchildren, Aydan James Keith, James Wesley Keith, and Lillianne Elizabeth Keith, all of Newark, DE; son-in-law, Charles R. Keith, Sr. of Newark, DE; and her sister-in-laws, Lucille Bonham and Geraldine Stroup, both of North East, MD. Sue was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, James Richard Stroup, who passed away in 1996.
Services for Sue will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
