Virginia L. Starr, age 89, of Rosedale, MD passed away peacefully on December 23, 2018. Born November 5, 1929 in Elkton, MD, Virginia was the daughter of the late Raul and Minnie (Abrams) Jackson.
Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A devout Christian, Virginia held faith and family of the utmost importance. She enjoyed playing games especially crossword puzzles, Scrabble and Connect4. She was known for her famous chewy oatmeal cookies she would make during the holidays.
Virginia is survived by her son, Robert L. Rolfe and his wife, Judy of Rosedale, MD; two daughters: Genevieve “Penny” Williams of North East, MD and Gail Charles of York, PA; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Including her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Jackson; sister, Retta McWilliams; first husband, Gaylord Rolfe; second husband, Richard Sekinger and her third husband, Gilbert Starr.
A service will be held in Virginia’s honor at 11am on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10am. Burial will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Calvary Baptist Church” of Dundalk, MD and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
