To Scherer Family, When I first met Jen Scherer I realized what a wonderfully special woman she was. My first encounter with her was a bit awkward and scary.. I was about 16 years old and I was on a date with Mark. We were typical 70's teenagers and partied late into the night. I wasn't sure where I was going to "crash" that night and I became worried. Mark said "don't worry, you can come to my house and sleep in my bed." !!! I asked Mark, "what about your parents? What would they think??" Mark said, "don't worry they won't care...Come on...." When we got to the Scherer home we listened to Van Halen and Kiss. Eventually the stereo was turned off and I went to sleep in his bed. The next morning I heard the sweet feminine southern voice of his Mom telling his Father " Big Ken", there's a woman in Mark's bed...??? Thankfully, I had been and was fully clothed... They never said another word after that !!! From then on we had many sweet, memorable encounters. Mark and I remained best friends and his parents took me under their wings when my Mom was murdered. Jen was always sweet and kind to me. My memories will always be long and beautiful when I think of Jen. Love & Peace to you all, Jacque

Mark and family...Where to begin..Knowing your mom, me as a young girl because my mom and dad ( Fran and Dodi Asti) were friends. I can still see your mom sitting at the kitchen table visiting with my mom. Your dad was in my dads band. Swimming at the house pool...then I grow up and work at a hair salon and your mom was my customer. Then I got to know her, me as an adult and we became friends. No kidding, just the other day before the sad news was in the paper, mom and I had been driving through Glen Farms passing houses and naming who HAD lived in the different houses...and then we passed your house....what good memories for us. My parents were sad to hear the news also. We are thinking of you at this time. Carolyn Asti and family

Dear Scherer Family, I taught with Ginny for many years at Forest Oak, and she was a good friend as well as a respected colleague. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I always admired her no nonsense approach to teaching. He students respected her greatly as did her fellow teachers. My deepest sympathy. Jack Hill
