Violet Mildred Cross, 92, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully September 27, 2015.

Born in Grand-Saline, TX on July 4, 1923, Violet was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Beulah Gholston. She was a woman devoted to her family and in her later years was active in church work.

Surviving are her sons, Nick Cross and his wife Christine of Newark, DE, and Dan Cross and his wife Brenda of Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter, Nita Wade and her husband Thomas of Surfside Beach, SC; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Theo Cross who died in 1976.

Services will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and mailed to R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main St., Elkton, MD 21921.

I am so sorry for your loss. Violet was a beautiful soul and we loved her so much. I missed her when she was unable to come to church. I know she is rejoicing with her LORD at this time.

Via was so loving and sweet. She and my mother were such good friends (Clara Martin) all of Clara's kids just loved Via. She will always be remembered in the Martin family.
