Your Mom was a wonderful lady. We all lived close by, the Absher family. We went sledding down the the hill in the snow by her house. Such great memories. We are so sorry for your loss.Dick and Charlotte (Tottie) Absher LaBelle and Mary and Don Anders.

I am sending my love and prayers to all the family and friends. I, too, have tender memories of Gram. She generously took me in as one of her own. Her kindness was relentless in every way and no one ever went away from her home hungry, physically or spiritually. I am vastly grateful for her love and testimony of her unwavering faith in God. Much love and gratitude,

Viola has been part of my life since I was a child. The Howells & the Halseys were friends & I remember sledding events, sleepovers & church together at Porter's Grove. We all loved her Sunday dinners with her delicious cakes followed by Sunday drives. Viola's driving speeds were legend but somehow we all survived. Much later one of my mother's favorite outings was an afternoon spent with Viola - two little old ladies looking at pictures, laughing & reminiscing together. Viola was a devoted mother & a true Christian. Her family is so blessed that she lived to be 95. Her Southern charm & accent, her generosity of spirit & sweet personality will be missed by all who knew & loved her. Rest in peace.

She was quite a Lady. A true friend to my parents Clinton & Louise Johnson. All of us kids thought the world of Ed & Viola. They were Family. There were lots of good times growing up on Johnson Road with The Halseys and The Johnson Families. Family and Friends are in our thoughts and prayers. Heavens not going to be the same because I know she is rejoicing with Ed and Ruth Ann and Mom and Dad and so many others!!! Rest In Peace. Love from Tim & Vianna Johnson~

I have wonderful memories of visiting Viola and her family as a child. My parents (Opal and Hubert Cook) would often take us over to visit Viola and her family. Ruth Ann and I were really good friends. Viola always made us feel welcomed. Sorry to hear that she is gone. Hope she will stay in touch with my mom and dad in heaven. I have great memories of my step grandmother - playing at her home sharing meals, especially at her annual Christmas party. Viola was welcoming to everyone and I will miss her, greatly. I appreciate her service to our country as a "boom boom" girls and her sweet nature that asked nothing but a return of the love that was so freely given. Please save a place for me in the Kingdom come and I will try to maintain and share something of your sweetness here in this life.

Viola was a great woman, so gentle, caring, and welcoming to anyone. I loved her very much. I will miss her sweetness. Truly one of God's lights has left our world for His. I will remember her great service to this country as a "boom boom girl" and her loving care to her family. I have so many memories of laughing and playing at her home as a child and later gathering together with the family for our annual Christmas celebration. Her gift to me was her loving acceptance always - wanting nothing but love in return. I remember all of the meals shared together and the small things, like trying to "fix" her TV's remote control once as, when she had gotten older, she couldn't always see the buttons she wanted to use. Rest in the peace you deserve and please look for me in the Kingdom come.
