Theodore Michael Halter, Sr., aged 74, of Denver, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 27, 2024. Born on May 17, 1950, in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Frank T. Halter and Gloria E. Halter.
A man of honor and courage, Ted served his nation with distinction as an Intelligence Specialist in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from the year 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1971. In his later years, Ted was a member of the local American Legion where he proudly honored his brothers & sisters in arms by serving on the funeral Honor Guard.
Ted was the beloved husband of Nancy Halter. He leaves behind his loving children, Theodore Halter, Jr. (Jenna Gentry) and Renee Halter (CJ Keefer). He will forever be remembered as “GrandPap” by his grandson, Jaxson Gentry. He is also survived by his sister, Melanie Stoner, and brother, Timothy Halter (and spouse Pat), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ted’s memory will be held dear in the hearts of those who knew him. Throughout his life, he found joy in the simple pleasures, such as gathering with his comrades at the local VFW, engaging in games of bingo, playing games with his family and watching his favorite shows. His fondness for Dunkin Donuts coffee was well-known among his family and friends.
A service will be held in honor of Ted’s life at The Delaware Veterans Cemetery Chapel at a later date.
In remembrance of Theodore Michael Halter, Sr., a man who touched many lives, may he find eternal peace. The family suggests that those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to their local Veterans association in Ted’s name.
