Terrence Laurence Jenkins, 68, of Charlestown, Maryland, passed away on May 7, 2026.Born on October 23, 1957, in Buffalo, New York, Terrence was the son of the late Laurence and Helen (née Clark) Jenkins. He was the devoted husband of 28 years to Terri (née Chatham) Jenkins.
Terrence proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class. After his military career, he continued to serve his community by working for the Cecil County Public Schools, where he assembled science kits for students. He later joined the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at Perry Point, working in supply until his final retirement.
Terrence was Young at Heart. He participated in water aerobics, scuba diving, surfing, and camping. He took up playing the guitar again, and enjoyed going to local concerts. He particularly loved 70s music. At home, he was a Dog Dad to Gizmo. Terrence would always give a wave to those he passed by. They may not have known his name but that simple gesture meant a lot to others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Terri Jenkins; his sons, Trey Jenkins and Tyler Jenkins; his siblings, Gary Jenkins and wife Melissa, Timothy Jenkins and wife Joan, and Deborah Jenkins; nephews Jimmy and Steven; nieces Meredith and Kerry-Ann; and many extended family members and friends.
