Teresa and Butch were married for 45 years they married on December 21, 1979. Teresa fell right into her new role as a farmers wife, as she and Butch and the kids tended to the animals and the crops for many years until they ventured into the trucking business P&T trucking hauling milk for many more years,
Teresa was the glue that held everything together, she had a gift of having many talents from cooking to tending to her garden, and she made sure that all the fruits of her labor were canned or well-preserved for the winter months. Teresa was very proud of her house and kept it immaculate with always a presence of pine sol in the air, It wasn’t unlike her to have a calf in the kitchen as she nursed it back to health,
Sewing was one of Teresa’s special talents that she inherently learned from her mom, she spent many hours making drapes for her house or others, and she made most of her daughter’s dresses as well as her granddaughter’s dresses. Not to mention all of the special requests like a camo Apron for a special friend.
Teresa’s heart was bigger than her house she never turned away a person from her table or a soft place for them to sleep.
Teresa was feisty, funny, bold, and honest you knew where you stood with her at all times. One of the things that she loved to do was gather up all the grandchildren and take them on vacation with her to Chincoteague where they made many fond memories.
Teresa was a farmer at heart her flower garden was well tended to every season as it was a passion of hers to have her house surrounded by beautiful flowers.
Teresa is gone from this earth but certainly not forgotten, as Teresa passed over to her new life she was greeted by her Grandparents her father and stepfather Harry Weldy, and her dear brother Roger Weldy. Teresa’s very special friend passed away 11 years ago and took a piece of Teresa with her. Ms Carla Webb was there to greet her with open arms as they are now back together dancing in the fields of wildflowers.
A private ceremony will be held later for the immediate family.
A tribute to Teresa:
I’m standing right next to you just over your right shoulder, you may not see or hear me but if you just get quiet you will hear me. It’s sad to see you cry for me, I wish you only knew that even though you think I’m gone I have never left your side, You see I’ve been here all along and have watched you cry so please be brave and dry your tears, I love you now from a different place for this is my path and my reward, I’m in my glory, No more pain and now I’m free to do a jig.
Love,
Teresa
