Teena Rae Coffel, age 71 of Elkton, Maryland passed away on January 30, 2024. She was born on December 4, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Melvin Willard Holder and Mary Louise (Boggess) Holder.
Teena was a resident of Wichita and Wellington Kansas for most of her life and upon retirement moved to Iowa and then Maryland with her son. Throughout her life, she always established close friendships with her neighbors and coworkers. Teena’s generosity and kindness was found in every aspect of her life: as a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and dear friend to many who met her. She would regularly converse with strangers and always helped others in any way she could.
Particularly important to her was her strong love for animals. She gave to several charities and cared for many pets and creatures during her life. Teena had a keen eye for design and was very good with her hands. She loved crafting, gardening, and was a skilled artist in a variety of mediums. She created many art pieces throughout her life and was very skilled in sewing. Teena used the same Sears Kenmore Sewing Machine for over 50 years where she made countless garments, costumes, bedding, and curtains just to name a few.
Teena is survived by her son, Joel Coffel and brothers: Stanley Holder and Donald Lee West, Jr.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Danny Lee West.
