Ted Michael (Mike) Marcum, 50, of Elkton, MD, passed away September 4, 2013 at Christiana Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Elkton on August 25, 1963, Mike was the son of the late Ted and Violet Blankenship Marcum. He was a 1982 graduate of Elkton High School and for the past 15 years was employed at the Rockford Center in Newark. He loved music, and especially enjoyed listening to classic rock and was a great storyteller. Mike will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Tracy Dooling Marcum; a sister Frankie Upperco and her husband Lee of Carpenter’s Point; two nieces, Nancy Hawkins and Lisa Neary of Massachusetts, and Lisa’s sons Patrick and Liam Neary; a special cousin, Luther Cantrell of Elkton and his two “fur babies”, his dogs Harley and Scooter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Marcum.
A service honoring his life will be held at the Elkton Church of God, 1121 Singerly Road, Elkton, MD 21921 on Saturday September 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. where a visitation will be held beginning at 10:00. Burial will follow in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contribution checks may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the Cecil County Humane Society c/o R.T.
