Our dear beloved mother Tanya Clair Hurley, age 86, Newark, Delaware, went home to be with the Lord on our dear Savior’s (Jesus Christ) birthday, Christmas, December 25, 2020. Tanya was born to Frank and Sue (Cusano) Baldino on August 22, 1934, in Philadelphia.
Tanya had a passion for art and was an art major studying and learning different techniques. She painted with water colors and oil paints mostly of landscapes and flowers. In her younger years she was a model. She loved listening to music, especially classic and jazz. Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mathis were two of her favorite artists. She enjoyed watching classical movies and being around her family. Tanya was an incredible and wonderful wife and mother, who was deeply loved by her family.
She will always be remembered for her kind, gentle, and selfless heart with a beautiful spirit who was full of love. She always served others, putting their needs first and working to make a difference in their lives.
She was brave and strong facing more challenges than most of us can imagine. She never gave up fighting valiantly to overcome life’s challenges. We were so proud of her, she was our hero and the “wind beneath our wings.”
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Mathew 25:21)
“I fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” (2nd Timothy 4:7)
“And, I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23:6)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten son that whosoever shall believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
Tanya is survived by her son Gordon Hurley, III, and his wife, Melissa Bailey; her daughter Dawn Swanger and her boyfriend Oscar; three nieces: Sandy Pindell, Laura Garrett, Diane (DeeDee) Buehler; two nephews: Mike Pindell and Billy Pindell; and, two cousins: Alice and Licia Guenesso and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
