Susan Margaret Foster, age 69, died March 31, 2017 of complications caused by Alzheimer’s disease.
Susan is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Foster, Jr., of Hockessin; their son, Timothy J. Foster and his wife, Mandi of Mt. Pleasant, SC; their daughter, Tiffany L. Terranova and her husband, Nickolas of Hockessin, DE; 7 grandchildren; and her brother, James Inman of Lawrence, KS.
Susie was born in Lawrence, KS and moved to Newark, Delaware in 6th grade. She is a 1965 graduate of Newark High School and a 1969 graduate of the University of Delaware where she earned a BA in American Studies. Following graduation from UD, Susie worked as a sales manager for Macy’s in NYC. She married Tommy in 1970 and joined him moving to Parkersburg, WV, Augusta, GA, Asbury Park, NJ, Ludwigsburg, Germany, back to Parkersburg, WV and Hockessin, DE in 1988. She was a rural route carrier for Hockessin Post Office for many years. Susie was an avid walker, and she enjoyed dancing, ocean cruises, and traveling in retirement.
The Foster family thanks Pike Creek ManorCare and Heartland Hospice for their kind and considerate care of Susie. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the National Alzheimer’s Association for research to find a cure for this devastating disease. Services will be private.
