Susan E. Garrett, age 89, of Newark, DE went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2017. She was born on August 29, 1927 in Cornelia, GA to the late William Jasper Hunter and Nora Susan (Burrell) Hunter.
Susan worked for the DuPont Company of Wilmington, DE. She was a good Christian and was passionate about her relationship with the Lord.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert W. Garrett and son, James Rascoe. Susan is survived by her niece and nephew who cared for her, Frances R. Hughes and Donald T. Smith, granddaughter, Jennifer O’Saben; two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law; as well as other nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service in Susan’s honor will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may begin visiting at 12PM. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
