Steven “Steve” Sexton (57), of Rising Sun, MD, passed away unexpectedly on his Tennessee farm in Palmersville, TN on November 18, 2022. He was born on November 27, 1964 to Betty Jean Sexton and his father and best friend, the late Walter Sexton of Elkton, MD.
Steve is survived by his children, Heather Coudon, Thomas Sexton and Mia Sexton, daughter in law Stephanie Sexton, his beloved grandchildren, Joey, Trace, Harper and Madison; former spouse Sandra Sexton; brother Richard Sexton (Danielle) and sister Dawn Sexton; his best friends George Atkinson, Bill and Cindy Brown, and his “bonus son” Justin Westbrook.
Everyone who knew Steve knew the pride and love he had for his family, most notably his four grandchildren whom he spent countless hours traveling to support them in baseball and cheerleading. His pop-in visits, requests to join him for a meal and “talks with Pop” will be dearly missed.
Steve was a business owner, mentor, coach, neighbor, “bonus dad” and friend to many. With these relationships, it is no surprise that Steve made a difference in the lives of those who met him.
Steve continued to give selflessly after death, graciously and heroically giving the Gift of Life.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921 where family and friends may begin visiting at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made payable to “The Doc Perry Foundation” or “Donate Life Maryland” and send in care of the funeral home.
