Stephen Luzetsky, 90, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away at his home December 25, 2012.

A lifelong resident of Chesapeake City, Stephen was born on September 20, 1922, the son of the late Alexander and Martha Luzetsky. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. Steve worked for many years at G.M. until his retirement. He was a lifelong and very active and dedicated member of St. Basil Ukrainian Catholic Church, who had a passion for gardening and raising many different species of birds. This kind and gentle man will be missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by a brother, William Luzetsky, Sr.; two sisters, Margaret Goral and Helen Tauber as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Olga Luzetsky, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

A service honoring his life will be held at St. Basil Ukrainian Catholic Church, Basil Ave., Chesapeake City, MD on Saturday December 29, 2012at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915 beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northern Chesapeake Hospice Foundation c/o the funeral home.

My Father, George Veres - (deceased) was a cousin to Steve's wife, Olga. My Grandmother, Mary Veres and Olga's mother were sisters.

Ron, Ceri, Lori and Michael and the Luzetsky family, With deepest sympathy in the loss of your loved! Thinking of you and yours at this time!

Uncle Steve was a kind, gentle, and caring person who had a great love for children, nature, and all animals. He taught us many things about gardening and raising baby chicks, ducks, geese, and peacocks. When we stopped by to visit with him, he always greeted us with a warm smile and would sit and listen to our stories. He was a wonderful uncle, who touched many lives. He will truly be missed!

May Our Lord be near you on this day and Bless you in His gracious way and may each sympathetic prayer help easy the sorrow that you bear. May Stephen rest in peace and His memory be eternal! Vichnaya Pamiat!

"Uncle Stevie" was quite a guy. He kept his sense of humor right up to the end. He sure was not a complainer. He was quite knowledgeable about a number of things. I appreciate his service in the United States Navy. I'll always cherish our short time together. May you now rest in peace with your wife.

My condolences to the Luzetsky family. I attended mass many times and helped decorate St. Basil's for Christmas and Easter with Mr. Luzetsky, He was always warm and kind. He always greeted me with a smile and we laughed remembering the years gone by. He will truly be missed at the parish and I'm sure by all who knew him.
