It is easy to remember Aunt Stell. When I was young, she was larger than life to me. When Aunt Stell entered a room, you did not confuse her with any other Maksyn woman. She always was a General. Never a Foot Soldier. Baba was always busy from morning to night. She had a wonderful smile that always made me feel welcomed and loved. Aunt Mary was a giver of her time and good will. She was involved in so many things. After our car accident she use to come to New Jersey every weekend for a long time. I was falling behind in my shorthand studies because I missed so much school and Aunt Mary made it her business to teach me. Looking back I realize that she taught me more than just shorthand. Aunt Kay -- never really knew.her and that is a shame. She was the Maksyn woman unlike most of the others, quiet. Aunt Pauline had a great laugh and a twinkle always in her eyes. What stands out most to me about her is that she raised two very special daughters through some very trying life circumstances. Aunt Mil had the cleanest house I ever saw and loved her baseball and her family dearly. She was the baby of the family. Then there is my Mom, Helen. Always dutiful. Always willing to pitch in and lend a hand. I will be thinking of all of them and you this Saturday. Rest in Peace, Aunt Stell and say Hi to Uncle Nick.

Aunt Stell (as I always called her) was always special. She and Uncle Nick lived with us for awhile when I was a child growing up in Philadelphia. She would always get me all prettied up for when Uncle Nick came home from work…fixing my hair and putting on make-up ! I was the flower girl in their wedding. I always enjoyed going to their home in Southwest Philly for vacation and playing with my cousins, going to the park and eating Aunt Stell's great food. I also remember the times we spent in Chesapeake. I would go to her Mom's, Mrs. Maksyn, and we would play on her farm and pick apples for apple pie. We would also spend Sunday's on the canal at the Titskfamily waterfront property. Thanks, Aunt Stell and Uncle Nick for these great childhood memories ! You will be missed. Andy and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to Nick, Bill and the whole family. You cared for your parents and showed them your love and devotion. Now they are both together in Peace !
