Sharon Lee Houghtaling, age 79, of Colora, MD, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021. She was born in Worcester, MA on March 23, 1942 to the late Herbert Latimer Fortier and Louise Marjorie (Houghtaling) Fortier. Sharon had lived in the family home in Shrewsbury, MA for many years before moving to Maryland.
Sharon practiced holistic medicine for 20 years. In Massachusetts, she was a well-known herbalist. Sharon was a Reiki master and enjoyed healing the pain of others. She took great joy in embracing her Native American heritage, was a Shaman, Medicine Woman and would educate children about Native American Culture. She loved making Native American jewelry, attending pow-wows, and hosting fire walks.
Sharon is survived by her two daughters: Tammy Johnson (Ron) and Gina Mangiatordi; five grandchildren: Kara Phillips (Derek), Shayna Ivanitskyy (Dmytro), Alex Bucharelli, Kaila Baker, and Joshua Baker (Kelsey); four great-grandchildren: Mason, Bryson, Lilliya and Alivia; sister, Kelly Lou Harrington; her love James B. Campbell; beloved dog, Diesel; two cats: Shadow and Skyband; rescue turkeys: Rebel (Gobbles), Moe, Larry, and Curley.
In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her two brothers: Louise L. Fortier and Herbert “Bucky” Fortier, Jr.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Massachusetts.
