Sharon Kay Thompson, age 79 of North East, MD passed away on April 17, 2026. She was born on June 8, 1946 in Baltimore, MD to the late George LeGeer and Carrie Arvila (Myers) LeGeer.
Sharon was a devout Baptist who cherished her family and especially her grandchildren. Spending time and making memories with her family was the most important thing to her. She took vacations with her grandchildren to the Poconos and loved visiting the beach. Her favorite destination was Acapulco, Mexico. Sharon loved listening to Elvis Presley and caring for animals. Many will remember her excitement when she went on shopping sprees. She will be missed by many.
Sharon is survived by her daughters: Dawn Gobble (Thomas) and Carrie Johnson; grandchildren: Brett Gobble, Brittny Gobble, Katelynn Stroupe, Alex Johnson, Alexis Johnson (Matt), Andrew Johnson (Caitlynn), and Austin Johnson (Dakota); great grandson, Atlas Johnson; sister, Betty Kincaid; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Thompson and brothers: Donald, Olan, and John LeGeer.
Services for Sharon will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to, “Cecil County Animal Services” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
