Sara Lucy Slader, age 69, of Wilmington, DE went home to her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, June 24, 2017.
Born October 6, 1947 in Washington, D.C., Sara was the daughter of the late Gregory and Lucy (Poland) Slader. She is survived by her three children: Amanda Herbener and her fiancé, Carlos Gonzalez, Greg Herbener and Brad Slader and his wife, Jill. She is also survived by her four grandchildren.
Sara was a dairy goat farmer for many years and took great pride in her work. She had a thirst for knowledge and would spend several hours reading and expanding her understanding of history, science, and politics. When she was in her teens she even participated in Civil War reenactment. She was a very intellectual woman with a thoughtful and generous heart. She was passionate about spreading knowledge by contributing to charities that helped fund non-profit Native American schools, specifically, St. Joseph’s Indian School in South Dakota. It was very important to Sara to donate herself to science so that even while in her Lord’s loving embrace, she could contribute to expanding the depths of knowledge.
