Sandra “Sandi” Marie (Marks) McCormick of Wilmington, DE, beloved mother and wife, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 10, 1943, to the late Albert Wetzel Marks, Sr. and Margie (Brehm) Marks.
Sandi grew up in Claymont, DE, and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1961. She was the owner and director of Four Seasons Child Care Center in Newark, DE. In 1984, Sandi and her family moved to New Port Richey, FL, and fulfilled a lifelong dream of living in the Sunshine State. There she was an adored nursery school teacher at Primary Prep preschool and a favorite “storytime” reader at other local schools. In retirement, Sandi and her husband, John, returned to Delaware, moving to Ardentown, to be closer to family.
Sandi is survived by her husband of 47 years, John McCormick; son, Michael Shawn Hathaway and his wife, Stephanie; daughter, Deana O’Hara and her husband, Peter; four grandchildren: Justin, Aaron, Colin and Rory; brother, Albert Marks, Jr. and his wife, Diane Postell; and cousin, Louis Marks, Jr.
