Samantha Lynn Luff (Rapp), age 36, of Fair Hill, MD, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 26, 1988, in Sellersville, PA to Gregory and Gretchen (Plachter) Rapp. Her kindness, care, and love were evident everywhere she was.  She made everyone feel special.  Sam was an amazing wife and mother.  She was a beloved daughter, sister, family member, friend, and co-worker and will be missed immensely.

College sweethearts, Sam and Eric were married on June 9, 2012 and shared twelve joyful years of marriage.  Together they have two wonderful sons, EJ and Ben, who were Sam’s greatest joy.  She loved watching her boys play and enjoyed being surrounded by many wonderful soccer families.  Family was extremely important to Sam.  She treasured family gatherings and cherished their holiday traditions.  Sam strove to do everything with excellence. She had a brilliant mind, was well read, and was often referred to as “An encyclopedia of useless knowledge.”  She graduated from Elizabethtown College and spent her career at Ryerson where she was a passionate, respected, and greatly loved team member and leader.  Sam was fiercely competitive which was evident to anyone who had the pleasure of playing board games or cards with her.  In her free time Sam could be found crocheting baby blankets for friends and family.  She enjoyed crafting which was evident in the special touches she added to her home, the boys’ soccer teams and family traditions.  Sam loved relaxing by the water whether at the beach or boating with friends and family.  Sam lived a full life and was cherished by her husband, boys, family, friends and co-workers.  A huge hole has been left in our hearts.  Precious Sam, you will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Sam is survived by her loving husband, Eric Luff; two sons: Eric Luff and Benjamin Luff; sister, Nicole Haas (Christopher); two nephews: Christopher Haas and Nicholas Haas; in-laws: Matt and Sheri Luff and Shelly and Rodney Ciafre; two brother in-laws: Eleazar Ciafre and Ezekiel Ciafre; sister in-law, Lydia Ciafre, and grandmother, Nancie Plachter. Sam is preceded in death by her grandparents: Edward Plachter, James Rapp and Marie Rapp, and brother in-law Joshua Luff.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 4:00-6:00PM at R.T Foard Funeral Home, P.A. in Rising Sun, MD.  There will be a private family visitation held on November 2, 2024 at 11:00AM followed by a celebration of Sam’s life for family and friends at 12:00PM at R.T Foard Funeral Home, P.A. in Rising Sun, MD.   In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that anyone who is able to, please kindly make a donation towards her sons’ scholarship college fund at https://www.tmcfunding.com/funds/college-education-fund-for-eric-luff-and-benjamin-luff/11621/.
