Hi Mary, Fran and Ann, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. What a great lady she was! It is fantastic to read about all that she accomplished in life. Of course as a kid I never knew any of those things about her. I just knew her to be a great mom and always welcoming me into your home. I have such fond memories of hanging out in your basement, listening to music and lots of laughter. I send you all three hugs and I'm thinking about you! Becky Henn
Vera & Pastor Plvan left a message on July 30, 2015:
The prayers of the Plvans join the many offered to comfort and reassure the family of Ruth that she is now with the Lord where she experiences the eternal joy won for her and all believers by Christ's life, death and resurrection. Because He lives (and He most certainly does) we shall live also!
Martha Burke left a message on July 30, 2015:
It is a sad day in the neighborhood when we don't see Ruth coming and going from her garden or picking up leaves and twigs from her front yard before the close of the day. Her yard and garden have always been a showcase, totally immaculate! I have been an across-the-street neighbor for almost 18 years. Ruth and Frank welcomed my son, Marshall, and I into the neighborhood right away. I had actually met Ruth previously as she was a substitute school nurse (after her retirement) at the Thurgood Marshall Elementary School where I taught. To Mary, Nan, Fran, and family members we send sincere sympathy and condolences on the loss of both your mother and father this year. I shall forever miss the sound of your mother's sweet song-like voice every evening at dusk calling for "Blackie" to come in for the night. Sincerely, Marty and Marshall Burke, and Eric Lindquist Newark, DE

Dave and I just want to say how sorry we are with the passing of your lovely mother, Ruth. She was a delight to see working in her garden and she always waved when she saw me working in mine. She was a very sweet and caring person-I will miss seeing her. -Dot, Dave Milsom, Fairfield neighbors.

Dear Mary, Anne, Fran and Family, Somehow it is hard to accept that the loss of both parents could be within weeks of each other; however, you all are very fortunate in that you had two lovely, and caring parents from the outset. I have know your parents since my first days in Newark (1965), and my appreciation and respect for both of them grew during the ensuing years: They were and are two special people who di a lot for many, and I am grateful to have know them both. Sincerely, Wayne Hill, NHS
Tammy Ward left a message on July 28, 2015:
Ann and Fran, I'm not sure if you remember me but I was a counselor at Camp Pecometh in the 1980's (and came back in the 90's). I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my mother 3 years ago December 23rd very suddenly too and so I know the pain that you must be going through. May God keep you in the palm of His hand during this trying time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
