Ruth S. Adkins, 79, of Newark, DE, went home to her Lord and Saviour in Heaven Friday, March 21, 2014.
Born July 5, 1934, Ruth was the daughter of the late Everett and Elizabeth Ida LaPointe, Sr. Ruth loved flowers and spent much of her time gardening. She cherished her time spent with her family, especially her wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lifelong member at Glasgow Baptist Church where she was very active. She was a devoted Christian and had an unwavering faith in God.
Ruth is survived by her three sons, Roger Reed and his wife, Anna, Robert Adkins and Edward Adkins, all of Newark, DE; two brothers, Roland LaPointe and his wife, Arlene of Newark, DE and Everett LaPointe, Jr. of Townsend, DE; sister, Beverly Nowell and her husband, Wayne of Locust Point, MD; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
A service honoring Ruth’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Glasgow Baptist Church, 3021 Old County Road, Newark, DE 19702.
