Ruth Marlene Gilger Koronik, age 69, of Elkton, MD passed away on August 13, 2013. She was born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania on January 29, 1944; daughter of the late Oliver Hobbs and Cora (Horney) Lowe.
Ruth was a little spitfire who loved to crochet and read the Bible. She had a large collection of Biblical movies. Ruth’s favorite color was green. What she did best was being a loving mother and grandmother to her family, who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her sons; Billy Gilger III and wife Diana of Delaware, Kenneth Gilger and wife Tina of Colora, MD, Paul J. Koronik Jr and wife Sharon of Elkton, MD, Michael S. Koronik of Elkton, MD; daughter Reina Ruth Gilger of Rising Sun, MD; brother James Hobbs of Claymont, DE; 15 grandchildren, Adrian, Jessica, Krystal, Jeff, Jeanna, Nicole, Heather, Amy, Candace, Nathan, Katelyn, Alexander, Ethan, and Nevaeh; 5 great grandchildren, Angel, Autumn, Joshua, Michael, Dinitri; and three nieces.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Harold W. Gilger II, and Paul J. Koronik Sr., and her son, David M. Gilger.
A Service will be held 1PM on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where family and friends may call two hours prior beginning at 11AM. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
