Ruth Hilda Gravely, 87, a long time resident of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully at Broad Meadow Healthcare Center in Middletown, MD.
Born in Elkton on October 8, 1924, Ruth was the daughter of the late Herbert M. and Stella Scott Andrew. She was a talented seamstress and after working at Triumph Explosives and Nanette’s Sewing Factory, she started her own sewing business. Ruth enjoyed gardening and feeding her birds, was devoted to her family and dearly loved her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Lillian Andrew and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Howard Gravely; her brothers, Robert, Scott and Herbert and her sister Sara.
A graveside service will be held at Elkton Cemetery on Sunday August 12, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.
