Ruth Geraldine Webb, age 91, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 surrounded by her family at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. She was born in Conowingo, MD to the late Elmer and Pearl (McCoulough) Reed.
A lifelong resident of the area, Gerry was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, where she was very active in and loved playing sports. After marriage, she was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother to her husband and children, and later in life, she was a doting grandmother to her grand children and great grand children. She loved to golf, and was a long time member of the old Chantilly Golf Club. Gerry was also a life time member of the West Nottingham Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her sons, Harold A. Webb and wife Kathleen of Havre de Grace, MD, James H. Webb of Perryville, MD, and Wayne M. Webb and wife, Maralyn of Rising Sun, MD; daughter, Judith Coudon and husband George of Rising Sun, MD; brother Howard Reed of Port Deposit, MD; sisters Gladys Keesee of FL and Eleanor Wimbish of Denton, MD; 14 grandchildren, 12 2/3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her special friend, Phyllis Smith, who was very devoted to her.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Hubert A.; son Robert W. Webb; daughter, Barbara L. Webb; brothers Ralph Reed and Donald Reed; and sisters Lillian Love, Janet Fish, Alice Coulson, and Helen Rogers.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff from Calvert Manor Nursing Home for their wonderful care our mother received during her residence there.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at R.T. Foard F.H., PA, 111 S. Queens St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service beginning at 10AM. Burial will follow the service at Brookview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution checks can be out to “West Nottingham Presbyterian Church” or “Calvert Manor Nursing Scholarship Fund”, and sent c/o the funeral home.
