Ruth Barrett Kyle, age 86, of Rising Sun, MD passed away on February 24, 2013. Ruth was born in Sylmar, PA on June 30, 1926 to the late Clifford and Kathleen (Ferguson) Barrett.

Ruth attended Beacom College where she earned a two year associate’s degree. She was one of the longest standing members of Mt. Pleasant Church. Ruth was in charge of the dining room for the spring and fall turkey suppers, always making sure their were pies for all. She also helped with many other church fundraisers. Ruth loved to read, shopping and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Kyle of Port Deposit, MD; daughter, Barbara Schmidt and her husband David of Port Deposit, MD; sister, Helen Coulter of Rising Sun, MD; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, John T. Kyle, Jr.; brothers, Earl, Harold and Ralph Barrett; and grandson, Brian Kyle.

A Service will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where family and friends may call one hour prior.

Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery.
