Rudolph Kist, Jr., age 96 years, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Elkton Nursing and Rehab, Elkton, Maryland. Mr. Kist was born in Elkton, Maryland on January 30, 1929, to the late Lydia Zahn Kist and Rudolf Kist, Sr. He attended school at Elk Mills, Elkton Elementary and Elkton High School in Elkton, Maryland. He was a member of Glad Tidings Church.

In 1982, Mr. Kist retired after 35 years from the Maryland State Highway Administration where he served as the Maintenance Supervisor.

He enjoyed walking, finding treasures at flea markets and yard sales, listening to country music and traveling across the United States.

Mr. Kist is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eva Grace Kist, three children: Rudolph Kist III (Kathy) of Tennessee, Leonard A. Kist (Sarah) of Delaware and Daniel E. Kist (Clarissa) of Maryland; seven grandchildren: Brittany K. McGehee (Malcolm) of Tennessee, Cameron L. Sedgwick (Brad) of Tennessee, Jonathan R. Kist (Jessica) of Tennessee, L. Stephen Kist (Allison) of Delaware, Cherie D. Kist (Deceased), Jessica Peel (Patrick), and Vanessa Kist (Cory) of Delaware; twelve great-grandchildren: Evie, Chauncey, Quinn, Crawford, Callum, Wyatt, Jack, Addie, Maddox, Mason, Emilia and McKenzie.

Services for Rudolph Kist will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, Maryland 21921 on Friday, April 25, 2025, with visitation starting at 11 am and funeral services to follow at noon.
