R. Keith Whiting, M.D. of North East, MD, age 87, died February 11, 2016 at Christiana Hospital. He was the son of Harry S. Whiting and Marjorie Frater (Scott) Whiting both deceased of Middletown, CT.

Keith was born Feb. 8, 1929 in Kitchener, Waterloo, Ontario. He grew up in Middletown, CT and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and Wesleyan University in Middletown. He then went to Medical School and received his M.D., C.M. from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He spent 3 years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and was discharged as a Captain in 1958. Dr. Whiting then did a Residency in Internal Medicine in West Virginia. He practiced Medicine for 15 years in Harrisburg, PA and then joined E.I. DuPont. He retired from DuPont in 1980 as Manager of Medical Services. He then was a consultant to psychiatrists in the field of Addiction Medicine at Philhaven Hospital in Mount Gretna, PA.

Keith was survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marjorie (Beers) Whiting and by their four children: Bruce and his wife Jacqueline (Manley) Whiting, Gary and his wife Kelly (Kohl) Whiting, Kent and his wife Christine (Sanchez) Whiting, and Susan Whiting and her husband, Henry Hill. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held at Rosebank U. M. Church in Rising Sun, MD. Burial will be in New Milford, CT at a later date. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to his church, Rosebank U.M. Church, 1743 Telegraph Road, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
