So sorry to hear that you're gone. You were such a great man and always nice to our little boy! He loved coming over to play with you and Sydney! We will always miss your friendly hello's and your perpetually upbeat mood. You were the perfect neighbor and your presence will be sorely missed.

The first thing that comes to mind is all the days we spent in the back of the bus on the way to Vo Tec with Rusty, Lain, me, Reggie, Timmy. and all the antics we would pull and the larger than life issues we talked about. I mean how big could they have been in the 11 / 12 grade? But none the not less we shared our lives on our trip from Elkton to North East. What a great place to go and hide on days I just cant take another second of being an adult. You were truly loved buddy and you will be sadly missed. God Bless you and rest now in the arms of the Lord.

Rusty was not only my husband, he was also my best friend. It was just a joy to be with him. When our first son was born, he was so excited to be a father. He just couldn't wait for visitors to see his son. He called my sister, Marie, and said "are you coming down to see this baby?" Then Aaron came along, and his excitement only grew bigger. He loved his children so much! Since we only had boys, when our grandchild arrived, and was a little princess, he was completely over the moon for her! Sydney very quickly wrapped him around her little finger, and that never changed. He absolutely adored her, and she thought that her Grampy was amazing. It will be difficult to face life without him, but we know that we will meet him again some day. Until that time, we will cherish our memories of the times we had together and hold tight to a promise for tomorrow.

Rusty was a great guy. Larger than life. He treated our grand daughter Sydney like the princess that she is. He always had a smile even when he wasn't feeling well. He will be greatly missed. My best memory of him is the way he was so happy when Sydney was born, he just beamed. Much love to Bonnie, Matt, Aaron, and Mom Mom, and all who held him dear.

I wanted to put this here because I thought it was very appropriate: "God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you And whispered "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."

Rusty, Rusty, Rusty I never even knew you were ill. I also didn't know you were in the Army for 6 years/ You went to boot camp two days after I got home from the service. Man, we use to fight & wrestle as boys. I think we were pretty even so neither one of us got the better of the other one. I'm glad of that. May your wife, children and grandchild have fond memories of you as I do.
