Ronald Charles Wardrop age 81 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born on October 24, 1941, in Detroit, MI to the late Robert Wardrop and Leona Marie (Clark) Wardrop.

Ronald was a proud US Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War from 1958 to 1961. He was a member of the American Legion Post 30. Ronald was a longtime member of Building The Virtuous Temple (BVT), where he enjoyed teaching Bible Study. God and Jesus were always a huge part of Ronald’s life. A lifelong dog lover, he especially loved his dog, Patch. Ronald loved going to Dunkin Donuts and eating pumpkin seeds. He also enjoyed making banana nut bread. Ronald will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Ronald is survived by his daughters: Deboarh Smith, Amy Wardrop and Roslyn Wardrop; grandchildren: Jennifer Blevins, Jovan Carpenter, Jason Johnson (Laura), Thomas McDaniel, and Sarah McDaniel; great grandchildren: Quinn Johnson, and Miles Johnson; Pastor and Partner, Marci Bryant; sister, Roslyn Verge-Merrill (Charles); and brother, Gerald Wardrop (Edie).

In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by wife, Eileen (Wright) Wardrop.

Services for Ronald will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Christian Growth Ministries, 850 N. Church St., Wilmington, DE 19801. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “BVT Church” in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
