Ronald Barry Rosenwald peacefully passed on May 26, 2025 at the Hospice of Marion County E.W. & Lucille Cates Hospice House surrounded by his loved ones. Ron was born in Norwich, CT on March 28, 1939 and grew up in Wilmington, DE. Ron attended and graduated from Sanford School in Hockessin, DE in 1958 where he was affectionately known as “Ozzie.” He also graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree and from Arizona State University with a Master’s Degree. Ron is predeceased by his first wife, Chari Fisher Rosenwald, whom he married in 1963.
Ron’s parents, Fae and Ruben Rosenwald opened Faez Apparel Shoppe “in the heart of Elkton,” which Ron took over at their retirement and operated until 1980 when he and Chari started a Montgomery Ward Catalog agency in the same location. Ron was also a realtor as well as an appraiser and continued this profession after he and Chari relocated to Florida in 1994. Throughout his life, Ron loved to golf, hunt, fish, travel and operate his ham radio as KA3DRO.
Ron is survived by his wife, Janice Rosenwald of Ocala, FL; his children Justine Shulman of Virginia, Tracy Juergens of Ocean Pines, MD, Mitchell Rosenwald of Oakland Park, FL and Tami Shearer of Ocala, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Benjamin Shulman, Jonathan Shulman, Jacob Juergens, Noah Juergens, Jeremy Almond, Caleb Almond, and his great-grandson: Ezra Almond.
