Coach Struble coached myself and my four sisters in field hockey and softball at EHS . Over the years during family parties a story would be shared about a game or a practice and Coach Struble would always be mentioned . She was tough and real and demanded respect and deserved it . She will be missed by all five of us .

My dear Mrs. Struble….. you have been in my thoughts since middle school…you were sooo good to me when you let me wear long pants in gym class because of religious reasons…and you gave me good grades for effort when I was not as athletically inclined as the other girls.. every time I take a shower I am expecting you to be there to write my name down..ha…I will miss you..but I can never forget your wonderful smile and sweet nature!

Mrs. Struble was my high school hockey coach, PE teacher and mentor. What a terrific lady!!! Many years later my son played travel soccer with her grandson, Kyle. I was so fortunate to reconnect at many, many soccer games! To all the Struble family, my very deepest sympathy for the loss of one extraordinary lady. Please know I will be lifting you all in prayer.

I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Struble during her last days. I must say what a testament to a great woman that she could impact lives even in her last days. She was a wonderful woman who always had a spark when speaking of her family. She was feisty and funny and the short time I got to spend with her gave me lessons I will cherish for a lifetime. How important family is. How a simple smile from someone whos circumstances is worst than yours can make you not sweat things that are so trivial. Life is a blessing and she was a blessing to me in mine. To the family I would like to express my sincere condolences. I will keep you all in prayer. Heaven has truly gained an angel

Thoughts and prayers to the family on the loss of such a great person. She was such a help and inspiration to me when I started coaching field hockey at Rising Sun. Even though we coached at competing schools she was generous in sharing books and her vast knowledge of the sport and coaching.

Every girl who was blessed to play for Coach Struble no doubt benefited by her encouragement for the tough women she knew we could be, even in the less enlightened seventies and eighties. Roxanne too! EHS ‘81

I loved her as a gym teacher and just a really nice person . When JFK died we were in her gym class . I remember her taking us out to the field and sitting us all down and telling us. She was so compassionate to us, knowing that it would be hard on our young minds to comprehend. Funny that just a few days ago she popped in my mind and I remembered how nice it was to see her at our 1968’ class reunion. Some people just have an effect on you… she was one of those . ♥️? Mrs. Struble was one of my very favorite teachers and coaches. She taught me that, no matter how tired you are, no matter how defeated you feel, no matter how much you hurt, you do not stop. The race is not over until you've crossed the finish line. She was an inspiration to me and to countless others. She was tough but fair. And she cared. I felt so honored to have her attend my wedding. She was an amazing woman and I am proud to have called her my teacher. I send my deepest condolences to her family.

Coach Struble was the best. I'm texting with all of my field hockey gals tonight and we all agree - she was a touch coach, but she was a perfect coach. She left such a lasting impression on us and we all still think fondly of her (and a few of her quippy sayings) over 35 years later. EHS Field Hockey Class of '84. RIP Coach Struble! Condolences to Roxanne who left us with amazing memories as well!
