Robert W. Webb

June 19, 1946 - January 18, 2012

Robert W. ‘Bobby’ Webb, age 65, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away January 18, 2012 at Elkton Care and Rehabilitation.

Born in West Chester, PA, Robert was the son of Ruth (Gerry) Webb of Rising Sun, MD and the late Hubert Webb. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was a paratrooper and served in Panama. He worked as a manager at ACME Supermarkets and also as a warehouse manager at Perry Point Veterans Administration. In his younger years, he also worked on his family’s mushroom farm. He was an avid golfer and a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens.

He is survived by two sons, Justin Webb and his wife Dana of Oxford, PA and Connor Webb of Charlestown, MD; two daughters, Kimberly Copen and her husband Lewis of North East, MD and Stefanie Schmidt and her husband Ray of Perryville; three grandsons, Tyler, Ryan and Raymond; a granddaughter Abigail; three brothers, Wayne, Harold and Jim Webb; two sisters, Barbara Webb and Judy Coudon; his former spouse Sharon Webb and his lifelong friends, Ray Singleton and Chuck Long.

A service honoring Bobby’s life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Saturday January 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Brookview Cemetery.

Please accept my condolence. I hope that you are able to draw comfort from the scriptures during this difficult time. God's word, the Bible, refers to death as an enemy that will soon be done away with. 1 Corinthians 15:26. In addition, the Bible mentions a time when all of humankind will have the privilege of reuniting with our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. Jesus Christ's words at John 5:28, 29 assure us that such an exciting time will definitely take place. It is encouraging to know that the Almighty God not only has the power, but also desires to fulfill such Bible promises. Job 14:14, 15. Again, you have my deepest sympathy.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I was so upset to hear of Bobby's passing. He was a good friend to our family and to my sister Sharon during their school years. He will be sorely missed.

Bob was an amazing father and the world would be a better place if there were more fathers like him. He was amazing with Connor. Connor, he loved watching you play baseball. He was so proud of you and never stopped talking about you on the sidelines. Your daddy was amazing and his memories can never be taken from you. It's a sad day when a great man leaves the world. I remember when daddy would let you call me and you were having so much fun with him on all of your weekend adventures. My condolences to the family, Connor, and his friends for losing such a great man who never stopped fighting. Connor, daddy would be proud for always being by his side.

I have the greastest dad in the whole world. He did everything with me. He always listened to everything I had to to say because everyone knows i never stop talking. I will miss him and he will be in my heart forever. I just wish I had more time with my friend, my buddy, my hero, my daddy. I am sending all my hugs and kisses to him in heaven and I know he will be sending them back to me.

Sorry to Hear of Bobby passing...The Baltimore Orioles have lost a Great Fan...It was always a fun time to be standing in Boogs line and look up and see Bobby...He Loved his Orioles..

It always makes me sad to hear of another high school buddy passing. He was such good guy. I loved sharing my lunch with him!

Although I never knew him, I know he had to be a good man to have a beautiful daughter and son turn out the way they did. I pray you find comfort in knowing that your Dad is at peace now and no longer suffering. He is now in God's hands looking down at you. My prayers go out to the Webb family, keep the faith God will see you through this.

I am at a loss for words to hear about Bob..he was always the nicest guy and he knew how to put a smile on your face..my sister and her husband( Mary & Homer Chinault) lived on Hubert's farm for years..we had so much fun riding the old horse and in High school too..I want to extend my deepest sympathies to the family..he was loved by many

so sad to hear of Bobbys passing..... we were great friends through elem/high and always such a great sense of humor and a nice person.. we are sure he will be sadly missed by all
