To the Baird family I am sorry for your loss. Bob was a good man. I worked with Bob in the early 1990's and was having issues at a remote site. Bob came to visit and straightened it out and straightened me out at the same time. I use his advice to this day.

Dear Cathy, Emily and Sarah, I was so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was a wonderful man. He and Jerry were so close even though we all lived miles apart. Jerry loved Bob and always spoke about him with love. He often shared memories of their childhood together and would chuckle at some of the things they did growing up. I was truly touched that you mentioned Jerry in the obituary. Thank you! Bob was so much support and comfort for me when Jerry passed away. He would call and check on me and I knew I could call him when I needed a listening ear. I will pray for your peace and comfort in Bob's and your dad's passing. I'm sure he and Jerry are having a good time with their sense of humor keeping everyone up there laughing and rolling their eyes. Love and prayers for you all. Mary Elizabeth Shannon Croft

Our memory of Bob is his devout loyalty to his military service as a Marine. When a person walked into Bob's office there were Marine medals, posters, memories surrounding you. The Marine motto "Semper Fedelis" (Always Faithful") truly is a motto Bob took seriously and lived by. With love and sympathy to Cathy, Sarah, Emilly, and Grant.

Opportunities to spend time with you were always a treat, and your giant stature appropriately held your gentle heart. For each joke, each history lesson, and each word of wisdom, I sincerely thank you. Allowing me into your space was a gift and I will miss you! Rest well, handsome.

We’ve known Bob and Cathy for over 45 years. At their wedding I was 8 1/2 weeks pregnant with my son Mac III. Bob stayed with us for a few days before the wedding. He helped us with our foster daughter (soon to be daughter) because I was so slow. Bob changed her diapers, fed her and cooed at her every morning. Little did he know he would have two baby girls to coo over himself. Bob was such a loving, honorable, sweet, respectable, big dude.
