Robert Lee (Bob) Wick, 82, of Newark, DE, passed away May 11, 2013 at Cadia Pike Creek.
Born in Smyrna, DE on November 23, 1930, Bob was the son of the late Wendell Wick and Elsie Graham Whitlock. Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Kermit Roosevelt as a welder. He worked as a scheduler for Chrysler Corporation, retiring in 1975, was a member of the Masons and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an active man who had the talent to fix almost anything. Above all he was devoted to his family who will miss him very much.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ruth Ann Wick; two daughters, Robyn Radcliffe and her husband Tim of Clayton, DE, and Denise Smith and her husband Brian of Newark; four grandchildren, Scotty and Kevin Radcliffe and Ben and Abby Smith. The family is most grateful to the staff at Cadia and Compassionate Care Hospice.
A service honoring his life will be held at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711 on Thursday May 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice c/o the funeral home.
