Robert “Bob” J. Classon of Earleville, MD, age 74, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022. He was born in Baltimore, MD on January 19, 1948 to the late Jack Classon and Esther (Stein) Classon.
Bob earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from American University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Nichols College. He was passionate about his scientific work, retiring from Shimadzu Scientific Instruments after 20 years. A brilliant man, who constantly expanded his scientific knowledge, Bob was a member of the American Chemical Society for 52 years. He also taught business classes at Nichols College in Massachusetts.
Bob enjoyed traveling the world and sharing long stories of his adventures. He loved classical music and spotting bald eagles, was a connoisseur of coffee and scotch, and cheered for the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. He liked games like backgammon and solitaire and was the toughest monopoly opponent ever. With his amazing memory, Bob always managed to think of something unexpected to say each time he played Two Truths and a Lie with his granddaughter. He was a true man of honor in a class of his own. Bob will be dearly missed by his beloved family.
Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Jessica Classon; daughter, Emily Classon and her husband, Christopher Briggs; and granddaughter, Gabby.
