Robert Harold Grundy, age 86 of Newark, DE passed away on December 30, 2016. He was born on February 7, 1930 in Newark, DE to the late, John Grundy and Christina (Dingfelder) Grundy.

Robert was in the Army and served in the Korean War where he was a forward observer. Later, he became an owner/operator and was a long haul trucker. He was also a long time member of the Newark VFW.

Robert is survived by his sister, Doris Coomes of CA; brother, George Grundy and his wife, Margaret of Elkton, MD; nephews: Steve Grundy and his wife, Amy of Newark, DE and John Grundy and his wife, Eileen of Wilmington, DE; and nieces: Dana Gilsinger and her husband, Joe of Crownpoint, IN and Bev Barbush and her husband, Mike of St. John, IN.

He is preceded in death by his brothers: John, Francis, and Martin Grundy and sister, Eleanor Miller.

A service will be held for Robert on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11:00AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701. Family and friends are encouraged to meet at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc. 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711 at 10:00AM to leave in procession.
